It took Nick Tan, Key Executive Officer of Singapore Realtors Inc (SRI) Pte Ltd, more than a year to secure a buyer for his client’s cluster house amid weak market conditions. However, Nick persevered on as he believes that a committed property agent will strive to do his best for each of his clients even in difficult and challenging situations. Mr Chua, the owner of the cluster house, was impressed with Nick’s professionalism, commitment, and perseverance throughout the whole engagement process and wrote CEA a letter to compliment him. He shared that Nick never once showed signs of giving up despite his reluctance to lower the selling price amid weak market conditions. “He is honest, forthcoming, hardworking, resilient, and most importantly, he always holds his client’s interests as his top priority. Mr Lim, another of Nick’s clients, was impressed with the holistic approach Nick had adopted when marketing his four-room HDB flat. Nick used multiple tools and platforms, both online and offline, to showcase Mr Lim’s property. With Nick’s help, Mr Lim sold the flat within two weeks. Being well versed and knowledgeable in HDB rules and procedures, Nick also ensured that Mr Lim’s purchase of a HDB executive apartment was carried out smoothly and seamlessly.

Nick has been in the industry for more than six years. In 2016, he cofounded SRI together with his partners. The company has grown from strength to strength with more than 230 active agents currently. Nick shared that agents in SRI go through professional photography and photo editing training. SRI is also one of the first property agencies in Singapore to adopt the 360 Virtual Tour technology as an important marketing tool. These initiatives have borne fruit as the company regularly receives positive feedback from clients on the properties it showcases. This bears testament to the company’s tagline “It’s all about the experience”.

Reflecting on what he considers to be important traits of a good agent, Nick believes that it is important to have passion in what you do as it is a tiring job that can get challenging at times. “Honesty and integrity play a big part. As long as you are sincere and place the interests of your clients above your own, they will trust you and will be happy to build a long-term working relationship with you!”
